The ability to fly in Pokémon Pokopia makes traversing your worlds that little bit easier. Whether you need to quickly soar between the Sparkling Skylands’ islands or wish to carefully glide down from Withered Wastelands’ cliffs, the flying ability has you covered.
Ditto also looks incredibly cute while doing it, as the ability sees the transformed Pokémon morph into a smaller, Ditto-fied Dragonite. Here’s exactly how to fly in Pokopia.

How to fly in Pokémon Pokopia
To unlock the ability to fly in Pokopia, you will first need to reach Sparkling Skylands and then learn it from Dragonite.
This means increasing your Trainer Rank to Ultra by completing the Yawn up a storm! Important Request in Withered Wastelands, the Time to Party! Important Request in Rocky Ridges, and the Brighten things up! Important Request in Bleak Beach.
Once you do reach Sparkling Skylands and have attracted Froakie to the area (this is after speaking to Rookidee and Sprigatito), here’s how to unlock the fly ability step by step:
- Speak to Froakie once they have the ‘I just remembered’ speech bubble. They’ll give you a hint for Dragonite’s habitat.
- Create Dragonite’s ‘Waterside Dinghy’ habitat, which requires the following items:
- 2x Duckweed
- 2x Water
- 1x Canoe
- 1x High-up Location
- You’ll find both the ‘High-up Location’ and ‘Canoe’ needed for this habitat on the same island as the Pokemon Center, if you climb up to the top of the waterfall there (though you may need to destroy some rubble to reveal the waterfall).
