Timber has a variety of uses in Crimson Desert and is especially useful if you want to upgrade a wooden shield. While you may find Timber when exploring the world or from defeating enemies, there’s an easy method for getting your own Timber supply early on. So read below to learn how to get Timber, along with Fine Timber, in Crimson Desert.
How to get Timber in Crimson Desert
To get Timber in Crimson Desert, you need to cut down a tree using a Logging Axe.
1. Buy a Logging Axe.
Logging Axes can be purchased from the Provisioner’s Shops scattered across the land. Thankfully, there’s one in the starting area for Crimson Desert – Hernand. You’ll find the Hernand Provisioner’s Shop not far from the tavern you visit for the armwrestling competition.
A Logging Axe costs 29 Copper.
2. Cut down a tree.
I won’t go into how to find trees as, just like in real life, they’re quite hard to miss. When you do find a tree you want to fell, equip your Logging Axe and start cutting. It’s a good idea to use the targeting controls to make sure you’re hitting the tree or else this will become a rather annoying process.
Eventually the tree will fall down (and it’s a good idea to be out of the way when it does). Now you need to cut the tree again until it breaks into segments. These segments can then be individually cut to get Timber. Typically, you’ll earn one piece of Timber and one piece of Fine Timber per segment. Though you may find yourself earning more…
Now you can use this Timber for a variety of activities, like upgrading shields.
