So you’ve seen some lovely aquatic Pokémon Pokopia builds and are wondering how to create your own waterfalls or water-based habitats. Fortunately, this is easily done, but the specific requests that unlock the ability to manipulate water and create Waterfalls are also easily missed if you’re ploughing through Pokopia’s story or focusing on ambitious building projects.
Here’s how to make waterfalls in Pokopia, including how to manipulate and place new water blocks around your world.

How to make Waterfalls in Pokémon Pokopia
To make waterfalls in Pokopia, you need to complete Piplup’s and Wooper’s Requests in Bleak Beach. After Piplup prompts you to learn how to swim, he’ll soon prompt you to learn how to make waterfalls.
Here’s how to complete his waterfall request step by step:
- Speak to Piplup when he has the ‘Let’s make a waterfall!’ speech bubble above him. He will be north of Bleak Beach standing by a pond when this happens.
- Piplup will task you with creating a waterfall above the pond, but to do this, you need to meet Paldean Wooper first. Piplup will give you their ‘Marshy tall grass’ habitat details, which require the following:
- 4x Yellow Tall Grass
- 2x Muddy Water (you can find Muddy Water by going downstairs from Piplup and heading right)
- You can alternatively buy Fresh Water or drinks from Vending Machines and consume them. This will store different types of water (depending on the drink consumed) in Ditto’s mouth.
Don’t forget to experiment with different types of water by purchasing and consuming drinks from Vending Machines too! For example, Roserade Tea produces Hot Spring Water while Chilli Sauce produces Lava. Though, you will need to power Vending Machines using electricity before you can use them.
