Pokémon Champions release time and date
Pokémon Champions releases on Wednesday 8th April, 2026 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Mobile ports for Android and iOS versions of the game are also anticipated later in 2026.
As for what time you’ll be able to play on Wednesday, Nintendo and Pokémon Works are yet to share an official release time for the game. However, most games released to the Nintendo eShop typically become available at midnight globally, meaning you should be able to install the game once it reaches midnight in your region.
The only exception to this rule is North America, which features different time zones across the region. In this instance, the game will be available at 12AM EDT. This is actually 9PM PDT for those along the west coast of North America, meaning those in the likes of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and more will be able to play the game a little earlier than the rest of the globe. Can you preload Pokémon Champions?
You cannot preload Pokémon Champions on Nintendo Switch at the time of writing. While the Nintendo eShop page for the game is available to view, the only options available to you here are to wishlist the game; there is no option to preload.
On top of that, Nintendo and the Pokémon Works have not yet revealed what Pokémon Champions’ file size will be. That said, we anticipate that it won’t be too big of a download. Recent releases Pokopia and Pokémon Legends: Z-A required just 6.2GB of storage space maximum each, so here’s hoping Pokémon Champions follows suit.
