Pokémon Pokopia is the cosy Pokémon simulation game we’ve all been waiting for and with it comes some brand new Pokémon for you to befriend. These new Pokémon are primarily fresh and distinct variants of pre-existing ones rather than being wholly new species, and these ‘mons will typically have different Specialties or roles in your world that you can make use of.
If you’re hoping to familiarise yourself with any new Pokémon and what they do, here are all new Pokémon in Pokopia, where you’ll find them, and what services they can provide as you rebuild your world.

All new Pokémon in Pokopia
Here are all new Pokémon that you can expect to meet and befriend in Pokémon Pokopia:
Professor Tangrowth
- Location: Withered Wastelands
- Specialties: Appraise
Professor Tangrowth will teach you everything you need to know about Pokopia and task you with completing various requests to help with improving your world. His Appraise Specialty also means that he can tell you about any item you take to him, so if you pick something up and aren’t sure of what it is, speak to Professor Tangrowth!
Peakychu
- Location: Bleak Beach
- Specialties: Illuminate
Peakychu is Pikachu but in a different flavour so to speak; in Pokopia, the beloved mouse Pokémon forgoes their yellow coat for an unusually pale white one. I didn’t think Pikachu could become any more adorable than they already are but The Pokémon Company has somehow managed it.
Peakychu possesses the Illuminate Specialty, which means that after being sufficiently ‘charged’, they can be used to illuminate an entire town! This makes building habitats and exploring at night that little bit easier.
Mosslax
- Location: Bleak Beach
- Specialties: Eat
Much like the above Peakychu, Mosslax is a new Pokémon that’ll be familiar to many, as they’re Snorlax with a new, mossy coat. Mosslax’s Eat Specialty also means that this sleepy Pokémon can provide you with passive buffs in exchange for food each day. For example, feeding Mosslax might grant you a buff that increases your chances of finding rare items and materials.
Smearguru
- Location: Bleak Beach
- Specialties: Paint
Smearguru is a talented artist in Pokopia, and this painter Pokémon is capable of using bowls of paint to redecorate items for you. So, any of your furniture that you’d rather had a different colour or pattern can be taken to Smearguru to be customised.
DJ Rotom
- Location: Rocky Ridges
- Specialties: DJ
Rotom takes on a new form in Pokopia and that’s DJ Rotom. This plasma Pokémon is the life of the party, capable of playing music if you bring them CDs, which in turn raises the mood of nearby Pokémon. I kind of wish I had my own DJ Rotom. I’d certainly get more use out of it than the Alarmo.
Chef Dente
- Location: Rocky Ridges
- Specialties: Party
Chef Dente is Greedent putting their food-stowing abilities to good use by becoming a chef who can cook up a storm for any occasion. Their Party Specialty sees them taking the lead when cooking for parties and special occasions, and you won’t be able to host a party without them, because what’s a party without food after all?
Tinkmaster
- Location: Sparkling Skylands
- Specialties: Build, Engineer
Tinkmaster is Tinkaton from Generation 9 of Pokémon, and in Pokopia, they’re putting their huge hammer to good use as a Pokémon who can help you with building. With the Build Specialty, Tinkmaster is a capable leader of any and all building or remodeling projects (and you can’t build without a leader).
On top of that though, Tinkmaster has the Engineer Specialty which also lets them take the lead on large building or remodeling projects, and they’re the only Pokémon who can do this in Pokopia at the time of writing. Thanks to this Specialty, this also means any regular-sized building projects led by Tinkmaster will be completed quicker than other Pokémon with the Build Specialty.
