Solving the Eastern Court strongbox puzzle in Crimson Desert is one of the more difficult ones I’ve come across yet. How to open the Eastern Court strongbox in Crimson Desert
To open the Eastern Court strongbox in Crimson Desert you need to turn the dial left until it clicks/crackles, then back left slightly until the noise stops or a loud click noise plays. You then need to repeat this process until the strongbox pops open.
I found it tricky at first to judge what noise was the ‘right’ noise to react to. The best way I can describe it is that it sounds like crackling foil or a crunching of small gears. Once you hear something like this after turning the dial to the right, turn the dial in the opposite direction until the noise stops. I had to do this puzzle multiple times to get the right timing – so don’t worry if it doesn’t work out the first time!
Top tip: If you’re using a controller, make sure the ‘Vibrate’ function is on. The controller will vibrate when you’re at the right point to turn the dial in the opposite direction!
Once you manage to get the strongbox open, you can collect the Necklace of Lightning as your reward.
Eastern Court strongbox location
The Eastern Court strongbox can be found in a hidden underground chamber in the Eastern Court in Demeniss. We’ve marked the location on the map below:
I chose to enter the Eastern Court using the south-facing first floor window. You can use any window to get into the Court really, because however you get in, you need to make your way to the bottom of the stairs.
At the bottom of the stairs, look for a hanging cloth. Pass through this and down the hole to your right, you’ll find the strongbox in front of you in the secret chamber here.
