Crimson Desert Memory-Laden Ruins puzzle solution

The Memory-Laden Ruins puzzle in Crimson Desert is another Ancient Ruins puzzle for you to solve, however this one requires a fair bit of legwork, tasking you with exploring the region of Crimson Desert and finding symbols carved into trees.

If you’d rather not do that or aren’t too sure where to look, I’ve fortunately put together this guide to help with that. Here’s the Crimson Desert Memory-Laden Ruins puzzle solution.

Upon approaching the Memory-Laden Ruins in Crimson Desert, you’ll find the staircase leading down to this particular point of interest is covered in brambles and vines that will damage you upon contact. To get rid of this obstacle, all you need to do is press ‘L1 + R1’ and then use ‘L1’ to have your Blinding Light Skill set them on fire.

Inside the Ruins, you’ll now find that the floor of the room at the bottom is one big spike trap. Surrounding it, there are multiple bridges being held up by rope. Our current goal for this puzzle is to traverse past the spike pit and onto the other side of the room.

But first, look at the walls of the room just before the spike pit. There are two identical maps marking four locations in the region of Crimson Desert. To actually solve this puzzle as intended, you need to visit these four marked locations and look for symbols – more specifically, arrow symbols – carved into tree trunks in the area.

If you’d rather not go hunting for symbols across the tropical region of Crimson Desert, we’ve noted the puzzle solution further down on this page. First however, we need to traverse the pit of spikes in front of us.

This is fortunately easily done. Use the D-pad to equip your bow and arrow then shoot the ropes holding the bridges up. They will drop and you can then jump across them to the next room. If you’re not confident with your jumping, you can climb along the walls here instead and drop onto the bridges when needed.

In the next room, multiple buttons will appear along the walls that feature arrows pointing in different directions. Now, you need to interact with a specific set of buttons, and these are revealed to you by using the above map to explore Crimson Desert and find the sigils marked on trees.

To save some time however, here are the buttons you need to press in the Memory-Laden Ruins:

  1. Downwards arrow.
  2. Upwards arrow.
  3. Right-facing arrow.
  4. Left-facing arrow.

These particular symbols are all conveniently on the left-hand side of the room, so you can ignore the buttons on the right altogether. You can also hit the above buttons in any order!

Once that’s done, the locked gate in the room will open and a glowing blue podium holding your reward – an Abyss Cresset – is revealed.
