Lumber is an incredibly useful resource in Pokémon Pokopia as it’s used to build furniture, buildings and, most importantly, Pokémon Centers.
Though you might not know exactly how to get Lumber in Pokopia as, while you can find a lot of branches and logs quite easily on the ground, Lumber can be harder to spot.
With this in mind, let’s take a look at exactly how to get Lumber in Pokopia.

How to get Lumber in Pokopia
The main way you get Lumber in Pokopia is by giving Small Logs to a Pokémon with the Chop Speciality, such as Scyther. Small Logs are found by using Cut to fell trees or the piles of logs you’ll find littered about the landscape.
After collecting the Small Logs, head over to the Pokémon with the Chop Speciality and select ‘Look at this!’ when talking to them. Next, show them the Small Logs, followed by ‘Make me some lumber’ and then decide how many Small Logs you want them to chop.
Each Small Log will give you five pieces of Lumber and you can hand over a maximum of 10 Small Logs at a time, which results in 50 Lumber. If you want more either go to another Pokémon with the Chop Speciality or wait until your current one is done.
After the Pokémon starts chopping away, go and do something else for a while. You can pop back on occasion to see if the Pokémon is still chopping. Once they’re done, they’ll be walking around like normal and you just need to talk to them to get your Lumber. (Remember – you will need to talk to them twice if you use Honey to make them appear in their habitat.)
Here’s a quick list of the Pokémon I’ve found with the Chop Speciality at the time of writing:
- Victreebel
- Scyther
- Pinsir
- Heracross
- Crobat
- Farfetch’d
- Zoroark
- Grubbin
- Dartrix
- Rookidee
- Corvisquire
There are, of course, more Pokémon with the Chop Speciality. You can see which ones you’ve found so best by filtering the Pokédex to only show Pokémon with this Specialty.
Lumber can also be found on the ground, but I don’t recommend this as a reliable way for obtaining it for two reasons. Firstly, it will take you a while to hunt down each individual piece of Lumber and, secondly, you’ll get a higher wield by working with the Chop Pokémon. Still, it’s worth collecting any random piece of Lumber you see. You never know when you might need it.
Best of luck with all your Lumber needs! If you’re looking for more Pokopia help, check out our guides on how to get Mysterious Feathers, all outfits list and how to increase storage.
