Paint in Pokémon Pokopia is what allows you to change and customize the colour of any furniture items or decorations you have. This is great for giving otherwise simple, plain furniture a splash of colour and setting up themed habitats for your ‘mons that have matching decor and so forth.
Before you can customise your furniture though, you’re going to need to grind a little bit to make all the different colours of paint. To assist with that, here’s how to get all Paint in Pokopia, including how to make all different types of Paint Balloons too.

How to get all Paint in Pokémon Pokopia
There are two ways to get Paint in Pokopia. Earlier on in your playthrough, you’ll need Berries and Crush Specialty Pokémon to make Paint for you, but later on, you’ll be able to buy Paint directly.
Here’s both ways of getting Paint in Pokopia, explained step-by-step:
1. Collect Berries
First things first, if you want Paint in Pokopia, you’ll need lots of Berries first. Every unique type of Berry can be used to make a type of Paint associated with its colour.
For example, Leppa Berries create Red Paint while Pecha Berries create Pink Paint.
2. Use a Crush Specialty Pokémon
Once you have some Berries in your backpack, you need to show them to a Pokémon with the Crush Specialty such as Onix in Withered Wastelands or Conkeldurr in Sparkling Skylands. Take a look at our list of Crush Specialty Pokémon to find more!
These Pokémon will take the Berries from you and process them into Paint. It’ll take a short while however, so you’ll want to go and do something else while you’re waiting for them.
3. Take Paint to Smearguru
Once you have some Paint and have an item you wish to customise, pay a visit to Smearguru in Bleak Beach and ask them to paint something for you. Customising your items using Paint is as simple as that.
Alternatively, you can take your Paint to a Workbench and craft Paint Balloons instead. These can then be thrown at a piece of furniture you have placed to customise its colour quickly.
That’s the first way of getting Paint in Pokopia. Now, onto the second method.
4. Purchase from the Palette Town PC Shop
Palette Town is the sandbox area found west of Withered Wastelands, and here, you’ll have a lot more freedom to do whatever you please with the land there. It’s in Palette Town that you’ll also find some new Pokémon and items that you can’t find elsewhere!
According to players on Reddit, once you upgrade Palette Town to Environment Level 5, you’ll be able to buy Paint from the PC Shop directly. This removes the need for gathering an abundance of Berries altogether, some of which are very hard to find.
