Raikou is one of the legendary Pokémon you can make a habitat for in Pokémon Pokopia.
While you’ll encounter Raikou during the ‘Brighten things up!’ Important Request, actually adding them to a location via a habitat works differently compared to other Pokémon, with Raikou being tricky to find if you don’t know where to look. So read on to learn how to get Raikou in Pokopia.

How to get Raikou in Pokopia
To get Raikou you need to visit the Pikachu Doll Dream Island (Ocean) in Pokopia. You may also get lucky by using either the Ditto or Substitute Doll, but, remember, these dolls can send you to any Dream Island.
It’s worth noting that the layouts for Dream Islands are selected randomly and this includes whether Raikou appears. On top of this, you can only visit one Dream Island per day. Due to this, you may need to visit the Pikachu Doll Dream Island multiple times across a number of days before you can find Raikou. (Time travel anyone?) Best of luck!
1. Check to see if Raikou is on the Pikachu Doll Dream Island
When it comes to actually finding Raikou, you need to head to the mountain in the centre of the island. At the foot of this mountain, you’ll find a number of cave entrances. There will always be at least two caves, but they might not be close to each other and some caves may have multiple entrances.
You’re looking for a cave which takes you deep into the depths of the mountains. You’ll know if Raikou is present, because you’ll eventually run into a wall of metal blocks. In-between the gaps in said blocks, you’ll spot Raikou!
Now you need to get through this wall by either going through the gaps or breaking the blocks. Keep in mind that you may need to eat a Hamburger Steak to break the blocks! If you don’t have that to hand, then you can always squeeze through a gap as Ditto will helpfully return to its normal form to do so.
2. Talk to Raikou
Once you’re on the other side, walk up to Raikou for a quick chat. During this conversation, Raikou will ask you to take them home with you. Definitely say yes or else you may risk having to find Raikou all over again. If Raikou is the third legendary dog you’ve met, you’ll also unlock the recipe for the Clear Bell at this point.
Afterwards, you’ll be asked if you want to return to Drifloon with Raikou. I recommend taking this option as it may be tricky to get Raikou out of the cave and speed up leaving if you want to head out. Don’t worry, you’re still able to explore the Dream Island after taking this option and can return via Drifloon later if you so choose.
On that note, it’s a good idea to pop back to where you found Raikou as you’ll be able to get three Rare Pokémetal by picking up the Yellow Poké Ball.
3. Make a habitat for Raikou
When you’re ready to depart from the Dream Island, talk to Drifloon. Once you’re back at whatever location you left from, you’ll find that Raikou is following you. Now it’s time to make a habitat for them to live in!
Personally, I made an easy habitat like ‘Tall Grass’ for Raikou as I wanted to ensure I had the legendary saved. (I plan on making a better home for them later. Promise.) Once the habitat is all set up, talk to Raikou and select ‘Wanna move in here?’ then ‘Yes, it will indeed’. Now you can visit Raikou whenever you like!
It’s a good idea to spread your Legendary and Mythical Pokémon out across the various locations in Pokopia as improving their Comfort Level will greatly boost the Environment Level of said location. This will make it easier to unlock more items from the PC shop!
