The movie adaptation of FromSoftware’s critically acclaimed Elden Ring has added Nick Offerman to the cast, according to insider Jordan Reimy.
Speaking on his World of Reel website, the tipster stated that Offerman, who also appeared in HBO’s The Last of Us series, has travelled to the set of the film to join the rest of the cast, and that production is kicking off this week ahead of a planned 2027 launch.
The Elden Ring movie is set to be directed by Alex Garland, and according to a report in August last year he provided a 160-page draft and flew to Japan to pitch it to Souls genre head honcho Hidetaka Miyazaki. Unsurprisingly, Garland is said to be a huge fan of Elden Ring, and presumably had no problem going that extra mile to get Miyazaki-san’s approval.
Peter Rice is attached as producer on the Elden Ring movie alongside DNA’s Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich, with Garland also serving as a writer on the film.
Elden Ring was released for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One in February 2022. Bandai Namco announced in April 2025 that the fantasy-RPG had reached 30 million digital sales and shipments globally.
