How to build Pokémon Centers in Pokopia

To build a Pokémon Center in Pokopia, you first need to reach Environment Level 3 in a location. At this point, the Pokémon Center rebuilding kit will become available on the PC Shop and can be purchased for 1,000 Coins.

While you still have to purchase and be at Environment Level 3, the only exception to this rule appears to be the Withered Wasteland Pokémon Center. Unlocking this kit also requires placing a flag atop the house you’ve built for yourself. Upon meeting both of these requirements, Professor Tangrowth will gain a speech bubble above his head saying ‘This building’. Talking to him will then unlock the Pokémon Center for purchasing.

Once you’ve purchased a Pokémon Center rebuilding kit, you then need to gather a required amount of materials and Pokémon. Materials are donated to the kit by interacting with it then, on the ‘Materials’ tab, pressing the A button on the material you wish to add. Pokémon, meanwhile, are a little more complicated.

The Pokémon required are pre-selected by the rebuilding kit, so you can’t just bring any Poké. Each rebuilding kit also requires specific Specialities, such as the Withered Wastelands needing a Pokémon with the Chop Specialty. If you don’t currently have a Pokémon with this Speciality, then you will need to attract one to your location by building a habitat.

When it comes to adding the Pokémon, you need to go out and find them! Now you could go wandering about whatever biome you’re currently in until you spot them or you could head straight to their habitat and use Honey to make them appear there. (That’s if they’re not there already!)

Once you’ve found the Pokémon, talk to them and select ‘Follow me’ or press the Up D-Pad button (though this will invite all of the Pokémon currently in front of you). Now take them back to the Pokémon Center, interact with the rebuilding kit and go to the ‘Pokémon’ tab. There you first need to ensure the Pokémon’s icon is coloured in and, when it is, press the A button to request they help with the rebuilding. Don’t worry if a Pokémon’s icon isn’t coloured in, they’re just not close enough to the kit yet. Give them time to catch up!

Remember: you can have up to five Pokémon following you at one time. This means you can easily gather a good number of the Pokémon required for your rebuilding project in one trip. Though it is important to note that I did have the required Pokémon change, so keep an eye out for that.

After you’ve gathered all of the materials and Pokémon, it’s time to select ‘Start rebuilding!’ The Pokémon Center will then be rebuilt the following day.

It’s important to note though that, during my playthrough, it only took an hour for the Sparkling Skylands Pokémon Center to be built. Whether this is because I built it during the post-game or had the help of Tinkmaster is yet to be confirmed.

What’s inside the Pokémon Centers?

There are three main things you can do in a Pokémon Center: purchase items for the shop, use the 3D printer and restore PP.

The first time you enter every Pokémon Center, there will also be a new Human Record awaiting you on the floor. I won’t spoil the surprise though! There’s also some items, like a potted plant and map, that you can pick up and use to decorate the world of Pokopia. You’re also free to decorate the Pokémon Center too.

Restore PP

On the right-hand side, you’ll find the staple of any Pokémon Center – the healing machine. Using this will allow you to fully restore your PP once per day. Don’t forget the ‘once per day’ rule!

Shop

If the biome you’re currently in has at least one Pokémon with the Trade Speciality, then there’s a chance they will be manning the shop inside the Pokémon Center. Here they will sell a variety of items, from berries to furniture, but you can’t buy them with Coins. Instead, you need to offer a selection of items that match the value of what you want to purchase.

Each item has a different value, such as one Leppa Berry being worth 10, and you need to offer enough items to either match or exceed the value of what you want to purchase. You can offer five items, up to a max of 99 for each, and the scales will tell you when you’ve offered enough.

Keep in mind that if you don’t have a Pokémon with the Trade Speciality or they’re asleep, then the shop won’t be open.

3D Printer

The 3D Printer allows you to make a copy of an item you’ve photographed using object mode at the cost of some Pokémetal. This means you can make copies of furniture you don’t know how to craft yet, alongside making copies of objects from Cloud Islands and other player’s towns.

To access object mode, you need to press the Minus button (-) to open your camera and then the Y Button to switch modes. The camera will label the object you’re looking at, making it easy to ensure you’re photographing the thing you wish to copy.

After doing so, simply take a photo of the object you wish to copy and then head to the nearest Pokémon Center. Once there, select the correct photo when interacting with the 3D Printer and decide how many copies you wish to make. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to see how much Pokémetal it will cost.

The 3D Printer will then instantly get to work and you’ll be able to collect your item!

Best of luck rebuilding all of the Pokémon Centers! If you’re looking for more Pokopia knowledge, then check out our guides on how to get Mysterious Feathers, the Pokédex and how to swim.
