Silent Hill 2 Remake Has Surpassed 5 Million Players Worldwide – PlayStation Universe

Konami has announced that Silent Hill 2 Remake has eclipsed five million players worldwide since its launch in October 2024. The publisher previously said back in October last year that the game had reached 2.5 million shipments and digital sales globally.

The game has surpassed 5 million players worldwide in total. Thank you to all who have played,” a translation of a post on the company’s Silent Hill X account reads.

Developed by Bloober Team, Silent Hill 2 Remake is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and offers a complete visual overhaul of the original 2001′ version of Team Silent’s acclaimed psychological horror title. Character models and environments have been meticulously redesigned for the latest hardware, and while the story remains more or less the same, new areas have been added to flesh out the town of Silent Hill while existing locations such as the Blue Creek Apartments and Brookhaven Hospital are greatly expanded. Puzzles are also completely overhauled, and there’s more of them, too.

Silent Hill 2 Remake follows James Sunderland as he travels to the foggy town after receiving a letter from his deceased wife, Mary, who asks James to meet her in their ‘special place.’ Not long after arriving in Silent Hill however, James finds it deathly quiet and overrun with grotesque monsters, with only a few other human survivors remaining.
