Speaking during interview with Bloomberg, Naoki Hamaguchi, director on the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, has revealed that locations including Rocket Town and Wutai will be featured in the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3.
“Yeah, this is one of the elements we had to switch around with Rebirth. Yes,” Hamaguchi-san said of Rocket Town. When asked about Wutai, he replied:
It’s one of the main locations. Yuffie’s made a very prominent appearance, stating her case about her homeland. So if Wutai’s not featured, I think the fans are going to yell at me.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will continue to utilise Unreal Engine 4 like its predecessors, with Hamaguchi stating recently that switching over to Unreal Engine 5 would have “risked our own progress being stalled.”
Speaking with Automaton last month, Hamaguchi revealed that the concluding chapter in the FFVII Remake project is already in a playable state, and that he hoped it won’t be too long before the team can share more info on the game. As previously reported, Hamaguchi-san stated during the same interview that visual quality of Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 won’t be compromised despite it being developed with multiple platforms.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 has yet to receive a release date, but it is expected to launch at some point in 2027 – the 30th anniversary of the original Final Fantasy VII on PlayStation.
