Dark Outlaw Games’ Debut Project Wasn’t A Live Service Title, Confirms Jason Blundell – PlayStation Universe

Jason Blundell has revealed on a Twitch stream with JCBackfire that Dark Outlaw Games, which yesterday was revealed to have been shuttered by Sony, was not working on a live service title as its debut project despite what people may have thought.

The former Call of Duty Zombies developer commented “You’re gonna mourn what could have been because we were making a hell of a game. I can assure you it wasn’t (the quality of the game). It’s a big company and decisions have to be made and I respect that. Times change, focus changes, but the project we were doing and what we were doing, fans would have been very excited.”

Unfortunately this is the second project that Blundell has been involved with that failed to get off the ground, as he previously co-founded Deviation Games back in 2022, a studio that would also shut its doors without shipping a title. Dark Outlaw Games was established only a year ago, and has now sadly joined Bluepoint Games as one of teams to have been shuttered by Sony this year alone.
