Crimson Desert Steel Mountains Ruins puzzle solution

The Steel Mountains Ruins in Crimson Desert are a stones throw away from the heavily-guarded Spire of Insight, making this a good puzzle to complete and unlock the Abyss Cresset (fast-travel location) for, as those goblins may make light work of you more than once if you’re not prepared.

Crimson Desert Steel Mountains Ruins puzzle solution

Upon arriving at the Steel Mountains Ruins in Crimson Desert, you’ll find eight bells and some other wares surrounded by some flowers. You’ll also notice that each bell is labeled with a symbol, and that there’s a cork board to the left of the bells with pieces of paper also showing these symbols. There’s also a small mallet on the stone podium to the right of the bells.

Now, your goal for this puzzle is to use the mallet to hit the bells in a specific order, and this order is actually revealed to you by analysing the paper on the cork board. To equip the mallet, open your inventory and opt to equip it, then use the left arrow on your D-pad to open up your toolbar and start using it.

If you read all the symbols on the cork board (shown above) from left to right, the following ‘order’ that you need to hit the bells in is revealed:

1. The F symbol that is missing a line.
2. The F symbol.
3. The F symbol with an extra line.
4. The F symbol with two extra lines.
5. The P symbol.
6. The P symbol with an extra line.
7. The F symbol with two extra lines (again).
8. The F symbol with one extra line (again).
9. The F symbol (again).
10. The F symbol with no extra lines (again).

Now, if you take the above list and hit each bell associated with the above symbols in order, the puzzle will be completed. To be clear, we’ve numbered the order in which you should hit the bells in on the below image:

Don’t forget that you need to pick up and equip the mallet to be able to hit the bells! And if you happen to mess up the order, you can start again right away. No reloads necessary.

You also want to be very careful to not knock a bell with Kliff’s body as you’re hitting them with the mallet. In my experience, this prevented the puzzle from being completed.

Once you do hit the bells in the correct order, a tune will play and a glowing blue podium will be revealed that contains your reward: an Abyss Cresset.

The Steel Mountains Ruins are found directly east of the Steel Mountains Camp, which is south in the region of Hernand. The Ruined Chapel, Ruined Chapel Shelter, and a Goblin Camp are to the west.
