Sanzaru Games, the studio behind the likes of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, had pitched a Jak & Daxter Remake/Remaster to Sony a while back, according animator Travis Howe.
“A while back, a team was assembled to pitch a remaster of Jak & Daxter. I was asked to animate an ICG shot-for-shot, to show what this update version would look like,” wrote Howe. Furthermore , it was confirmed on Howe’s LinkedIn that the pitch wasn’t commissioned by Sony and it was basically a fan pitch that was made to try and secure permission for a potential remaster.
Obviously nothing came of the pitch as we didn’t sadly get a remake of the beloved PS2 platformer, although Howe noted that despite this, he’s proud of how the pitch came together and suggested that fans share it so people know that a pitch was actually made.
