How to fast travel in Crimson Desert

Fast travel is essential for navigating the massive world of Crimson Desert. After all, while the world may be pretty, you don’t want to spend all of your time traipsing through it. For this reason, it’s a good idea to know the fast travel locations and how to fast travel in Crimson Desert.

How to fast travel in Crimson Desert

There are two forms of fast travel in Crimson Desert – Abyss Nexus and Abyss Cresset.

To use either method, you first need to activate the Abyss Nexus or Cresset fast travel location. Afterwards open your map, find the icon and select the ‘Teleport’ option. How you unlock the fast travel location, however, depends on whether your using a Nexus or Cresset.

Abyss Nexus

Abyss Nexus are what you’ll be primarily using for fast travel since there’s far more of them compared to Cressets. Every Abyss Nexus has the same appearance – grey tiles with a circular pattern in the middle that glows blue when stood upon. Standing atop an Abyss Nexus will activate it as a fast travel location, so don’t just walk away!

There are three ways you can find an Abyss Nexus:

  • Exploring the world naturally. Major locations, like Hernand Town, will have an Abyss Nexus so it’s a good idea to hunt it down before moving on.
  • Checking the map to see if there’s a location covered by fog and with a question mark. This means that there’s most likely an Abyss Nexus hidden somewhere in this location.
  • Using Blinding Flash. This will reveal an Abyss Nexus location at a distance, which will speed up your search. Your lantern can also be helpful in a similar manner.

Abyss Cresset

An Abyss Cresset is unlocked by either solving a puzzle or uncovering a Secret Place, such as the Meandering Hill ruins puzzle. After you’ve accomplished either goal, the Abyss Cresset can be used as a fast travel spot.

When it comes to the puzzles, it’s important to remember that you might not have the skill required for completing it yet. If this does occur then simply make a marker on your map of this location and return at a later date. The world of Pywel is wide so it’s a good idea to gather up as many fast travel locations as you can even if it does involve some backtracking.
