Shenmue III Enhanced Trailer Revealed; Physical Standard, Special, And Collector’s Editions Detailed For PS5 – PlayStation Universe

YS NET and ININ Games have lifted the wraps off the debut trailer for Shenmue III Enhanced, and while there’s no release date yet, we do have confirmation that the physical release will be available in three flavours: Standard, Special, and Collector’s. Preorders are now open.

Shenmue II Enhanced Standard Edition is the game on its own as you would expect, which is available for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S. The Special Edition meanwhile features the game, a Blu-ray disc featuring ‘A Gamer’s Journey: The Definitive History of Shenmue,‘The Making Of Shenmue III Enhanced art book, and a special box. Finally, the Collector’s adds all of the above, plus an exclusive cover and manual for the game, a 15cm tall figurine of Rye Hazuki training, a wooden scroll and keychain, an art print bundle, and collector’s box.

The original version of Shenmue III was released for PS4 and PC in November 2019, and this enhanced version features a number of improvements including enhanced textures, faster load times, and various quality-of-life improvements. For example, the stamina system has seen optional adjustments, health restoration is now available prior to boss fights, and progression has been improved thanks to a reduction of cash barriers.

Shenmue III picks up after the events of its 2001 predecessor and sees Ryo on the hunt for the man who killed his father in China, and is now joined by Shenhua, whom Ryo met towards the end of Shenmue II. The game sees the 18-year-old martial arts student scrapping with yet more goons, learning new techniques, making new friends and unearthing new clues to lead him to his ultimate goal — to confront Lan Di.

Shenmue III Enhanced has yet to attract a release date, but Ys Net and ININ Games will announce one “in the coming weeks.”
