Rocky Ridges in Pokémon Pokopia is one of the two places you can visit after Withered Wasteland. Here, you’ll meet a number of new Pokémon friends, including my personal favourite Scorbunny, find a Smelting Furnace and yet another Pokémon Center that’s seen better days.
With plenty to do, let’s get started – here’s our Pokémon Pokopia Rocky Ridges walkthrough.

Pokémon Pokopia Rocky Ridges walkthrough
After entering Rocky Ridges via the Area Gate in Withered Wasteland, Ditto and Professor Tangrowth realise they’ve found yet another neglected area that could help solve the puzzle of where the humans went.
- Head straight on the main path until you naturally stop and survey the landscape of Rocky Ridges.
- Follow Professor Tangrowth to the PC by the destroyed Rocky Ridges Pokémon Center.
- Speak to them again when you’re there and you’ll find the PC is powerless, it needs to be connected to electricity near the remains of the Pokémon Center.
- Despite a noble effort, your Ditto is not strong enough to push the PC to where it needs to go.
- Give Professor Tangrowth a minute or two, then speak to them again when they’re next to the Pokémon Center. You’ll eventually need to get a Machoke, but you’ll have to attract another Pokémon first.
- To make this Habitat you just need to use Leafage to plant four plots of grass in a 4×4 formation anywhere in the area.
- When Scorbunny appears, interact with them to learn Machoke’s preferred Habitat.
- To make this Habitat you need to put four pieces of Red Grass next to two piles of Sandbags.
- Don’t worry if you don’t know how to make Sandbags, you can find plenty around Rocky Ridges – though we recommend the two that are directly opposite the Pokémon Center.
- When you’ve made this Habitat, wait for Machoke to appear – it shouldn’t take very long at all.
- To do this, you simply need to pick up five pieces of Stone in the area in front of them.
- Once you’ve done this, speak to Machoke again when the ‘Nice work!’ speech bubble is above their head.
- Machoke will now teach you the ‘Strength’ move – this allows you to push and pull objects in your way. Perfect for your current PC problem.
- Simply walk up to the boulder you want to move and press A to either push or pull it, depending on the direction your Ditto is facing.
- Once the boulder is on the grey tiles, you’ve done your job!
- Just like the other areas, you won’t be able to do this right away and is instead an overarching Important Request for your time in Rocky Ridges.
- Buy the Pokémon Center repair kit from the PC for 1,000 Coins.
- Interact with the house icon on a wooden board in front of the Pokémon Center to find out what materials and Pokémon you need.
- Just another day for Ditto, you’ll find a Pokémon stuck in a barrel suspended from the ceiling.
- Climb up the wooden crates behind the stuck Pokémon to reach their level and press A to speak to them.
- Attempt to use Cut on their chain when prompted, but it won’t be strong enough.
- To make this Habitat you’ll need:
- 1x Pointy Tree
- 1x Large Boulder
- 4x Red Tall Grass
- Once you’ve made the Habitat, wait for a while and Dartrix will appear.
- Make Dartrix a Perch and place it in their Habitat.
- To make a Perch you’ll need:
- When you’ve made it, place it down in Dartrix’s habitat and speak to them again to get the Cutting Board Crafting Recipe.
- To make a Cutting Board you’ll need:
- Place the Cutting Board down in the kitchen near your trapped friend.
- Interact with the Cutting Board and input 2 leaves. Select the ‘Start cooking!’ option and you’ll soon have a crispy Salad!
- To attract Torkoal, you’ll need to build a ‘Mossy Hot Spring’ Habitat.
- To find the best place for this, head out of the kitchen area and face the Pokémon Center. Then follow the path left and into the cave here. Continue following the path until you reach the hot spring (water). You may need to break some blocks here too.
- Use Leafage to place down four pieces of Moss next to the water to create this habitat.
- Wait for a bit and speak to Tokoal when they appear.
- 2x Stone
- 2x Small Log
- 4x Volcanic Ash
- You’ll need to learn how to make a Frying Pan for this. To do this, go and speak to the Professor to get its crafting recipe.
- Speak to Machoke and follow them to the fence blocking the path. Use your new and improved Cut move to slice at the metal fences down.
- Follow the path down until you reach a darker area with a Smelting Furnace to your left.
- Make a ‘Digging and Burning’ Habitat for Magmar with these items:
- Wheelbarrow
- Excavation Tools
- Smelting Furnace
- When Magmar arrives, speak to them to learn about the Smelting Furnace.
Once you’ve done this, you’ll be prompted to visit a mysterious area gate, though we recommend completing Bleak Beach first if you’ve not done so already!
