Pokémetal in Pokémon Pokopia is a rare crafting resource that’s used for extravagant building projects, Important Requests, and 3D printing items. As a result, you’re ultimately going to want a lot of the stuff, especially as you approach the late-game and post-game in Pokopia, where the resource is needed more often.
Fortunately, there are a few different ways to find and gather Pokémetal in Pokopia, with more becoming available to you as you progress with the game’s story. Here’s how to get Pokémetal in Pokopia.

How to get Pokémetal in Pokémon Pokopia
There are two primary methods for gathering Pokémetal in Pokopia and these involve farming it out in the wild or gathering it from Dream Islands. That said, you may also find Pokémetal Ingots and Fragments – as well as Rare Pokémetal Ingots and Fragments – by chance from Poké Balls and glowing blocks you find across the world each day.
When it comes to gathering Pokémetal Fragments out in the wild, remember to eat a Simple Hamburger Steak to power up your Rock Smash. Otherwise, you’ll simply bounce off the Pokémetal deposits upon trying to break them.
Here are the primary methods for getting Pokémetal in Pokopia explained step by step:
1. Find Pokémetal Fragments in Rocky Ridges caves
During the early-mid game in Pokopia, Pokémetal is ultimately going to be hard to come by and will rely on RNG to an extent.
In my experience however, I was able to find some Pokémetal Fragment deposits inside the Rocky Ridges caves, specifically the ones to the north where Machoke encourages you to go as part of the area’s Requests. The Pokémetal Fragments here are few and far between, but they’re enough to help you get started.
2. Find Pokémetal Fragments in Sparkling Skylands underground buildings
As you approach the late-game in Pokopia, much larger deposits of Pokémetal Fragments can be found in the buildings beneath the sky islands.
Once you meet Gardevoir on the east-most island, she’ll request that you follow her deep into a building that looks a lot like Team Rocket’s old HQ. Head a little deeper into this underground base and you’ll find lots of Pokemetal Fragments to hammer away at.
3. Find Pokémetal Fragments in Dragonite Dream Islands
The third and final way of somewhat reliably finding some Pokémetal in Pokopia is by using the Dragonite Doll to visit a Dream Island. The Dragonite Doll specifically has you taken to Sky Islands by Drifloon, and here you’ll be able to find Pokémetal, Wastepaper, and Crystal Fragments.
If you’re having trouble finding Pokémetal this way, my only advice is to dig deep. Much like diamonds in Minecraft, Pokémetal likes to make you work for it and is often found in the deepest of cave crevices. Sometimes though, luck just isn’t on your side, and you’ll need to try visiting the Sky Dream Island again the next day (or use time-travelling to keep farming).
4. Process Pokémetal Fragments in a Smelting Furnace
When gathering Pokémetal out in the wild in Pokopia, you’ll be given Pokémetal Fragments, which aren’t all that useful as they are. To get Pokémetal Ingots used for crafting and 3D printing, you’ll need to put the Fragments into a Furnace and have a Burn Specialty Pokémon get to work processing them.
