Developer Housemarque has announced that Saros has gone gold, meaning development is now complete and the game is locked and loaded for its launch on April 30, 2026.
Saros is the next title from Housemarque following 2021’s Returnal, and combines elements of bullet hell, third-person shooting, and roguelike content. Players control Arjun Devraj (portrayed by Rahul Kohli), a Soltari Enforcer investigating a lost off-world colony on Carcosa. Saros puts a major focus on persistent resource and progression mechanics, allowing you to permanently upgrade your loadout with new weapons and suit enhancements for future playthroughs after each death.
The Solari Shield wielded by Devraj is a key defensive tool in Saros, allowing you absorb the energy of incoming projectiles and in turn use that energy to transform your right arm into the Carcosan Power Weapons and fire back at your enemies. Meanwhile, Soltari Holograms can be found while exploring the planet, unlocking details on Carcosa’s backstory and the events that transpired there.
Saros is scheduled for release on April 30 for PS5.
