Resident Evil Revelations Remake Is Something That Has Been ‘Tossed Around’ At Capcom, Claims Leaker – PlayStation Universe

Noted Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem has claimed the idea of a Resident Evil Revelations Remake has been ‘tossed around’ at Capcom, although it’s important to note that nothing has been confirmed at this point.

Speaking in response to a fan who asked whether or not Capcom considers Revelations canon or not, Golem responded with the following:

There’s a reason the directors of Rev 1 & Rev 2 are the ones spearheading the franchise at present. The original idea may have been to tell a story setback in the past, but their foundations ended up being crucial. The possibility of doing a Rev 1 Remake has been tossed around.

Resident Evil Revelations was released in 2012 for the 3DS and later ported to PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox Series One, and Xbox 360. The game follows Jill Valentine and partner Parker Luciani during events that take place between Resident Evil 4 and 5, and follows the destruction of a city known as Terrigracia after it was overrun with bioweapons. Players investigate a cruiser ship, the Queen Zenobia, which is invested with a new enemy known as Ooze, while Chris Redfield alongside his own partner, Jessica, is conducting is own investigation surrounding the incident.

Revelations was a key step forward for the franchise after the action-focussed RE6, as it attempted to combine the survival horror elements of the earlier titles with some of the more action-packed sequences of recent times. The game also allows players to scan enemies and the environment for hidden items with a contraption known as the Genesis, rewarding you with items after reaching a 100% scan.

Capcom celebrated 30 years of Resident Evil on March 22.
