Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which is a remake of 2013’s swashbuckling Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, is set for a reveal on April 16, 2026, with a full release not too far off.
That’s according to both ResetEra user BlackBate and Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, with the latter noting that a mid-April reveal for Assassin’s Creed Resynced has been in the planning for a while now. Furthermore, an internal documentation obtained by the site lists the game for release in FY 2027 Q2, which means it could arrive at any point between June – August 2026, with a July launch mentioned specifically be “some sources.”
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced was rumoured for nearly three years before Ubisoft officially confirmed its existence in a brief press release, which was accompanied by official artwork.
The game was initially outed by Kotaku in June 2023 as being in the works, and the Black Flag Remake was later mentioned as being one of many Assassin’s Creed projects planned at Ubisoft for the next five years. Back in December last year, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced was rated by PEGI, although the game was one of seven games delayed by Ubisoft earlier this year – it had reportedly been planned to release in March.
Interestingly, Henderson claimed in February 2024 that another Assassin’s Creed remake was in production outside of Black Flag, but this hasn’t been announced yet and there’s no further details available.
