Shift Up Won’t Reveal Stellar Blade 2 Until It’s ‘Reached A Satisfactory Quality’ – PlayStation Universe

Shift Up CEO Hyung-Tae Kim has revealed during an interview with 4Gamers that the developer won’t officially lift the wraps off Stellar Blade 2 until it’s reached a “satisfactory quality.”

Speaking on game development, Kim noted the process is “done slowly and carefully, there are always times when it looks like nothing is happening from the outside. Our team is currently working very passionately on the production, and we would like to present it once it has reached a satisfactory quality. Rather than sharing it prematurely, we believe it is best to inform everyone once everything is fully prepared.”

When suggested that Stellar Blade 2 is closer to the “good shape” Kim previously mentioned, he offered, “If I say that, it will be a big spoiler, so how about something like, ‘The time has come when you can have a little bit of expectation’?”

Stellar Blade was released for the PS5 in April 2024 and hit the PC in June 2025. On Steam, Stellar Blade achieved more than 100,000 concurrent users, making it one of the most successful PlayStation to PC ports released to date. Shift Up revealed in June 2025 that the game has sold more than three million copies across both formats.

Last week, it was revealed that Shift Up had acquired Shinji Mikami’s new studio, Unbound, which will be making projects for consoles and PC with the aim of appealing to a global audience.
